Greetings,
It is my honor to serve as Fire Chief for Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire & Rescue. My tenure has been long established in the Pleasant Hill Fire District dating back to 2003. I pride myself on working with our committed Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers to further shape our organization. This growth allows us to meet the growing demands of our community. Together, we have embodied a culture of ‘One Team’ centered around our core values, safety and performance, customer service, and professionalism.
Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire & Rescue was formed in 2018 as a result of an Intergovernmental Agreement for service between Pleasant Hill Rural Fire Protection District and Goshen Rural Fire Protection District. This partnership has expanded to allow us to hire more career staffing and imrpove the 24/7 staffing in our fire station. The highly trained and professional men and women who serve you respond to over 1100 alarms per year. These alarms include fires, medical emergencies, car accidents, water and special rescues, and other hazardous situations. We have raised our own expectations to provide constant EMT-Intermediate and Paremedic level Emergency Medical Services to all the patrons who rely on us each day.
As we venture forward, we are looking to our citizens to help empower us with the resources we need to further conquer challenges and roadblocks laying in front of us, such as the aging Pleasant Hill Fire Station and the declining volunteer firefighter staffing. As our community continues to support us, we’re able to reach the next level of protection services, consisistently improving the protection afforded to all who receive our services.
This website is created with dedication to transparency and open and honest communication. As a result, I trust you’ll find helpful and informative material about the services we provide, the challenges that we face, and the steps we’re taking on your behalf to protect you each day. As a public servant for this community, I am always here to answer questions and take time to focus on the concerns you may have as a local resident. As an organization, we’re always a phone call a way. Interested in getting further involved? Call our office today and we’ll explore if volunteering is the right fit for you. We’re proud to serve your needs, 24/7.
Sincerely,
Andrew Smith, Fire Chief
